Well-composed written communication, such as cover letters, thank-you notes, and targeted email, is essential to a successful job search. Whether you’re completing a job application, composing a cover letter, customizing your résumé, or sending a follow-up thank-you note, your written words have the potential to impress the reader. This includes hiring managers, recruiters, and HR professionals. Your written communication can imply your intelligence, curiosity, and writing ability. Most importantly, your written communication gives you the opportunity to create a bridge between a company’s business needs and your skills, background, and experience.
