The Stephen Weinberg 8 over 80 is designed to honor distinguished residents of the Tampa Jewish Community age 80 and older who have contributed monumentally to the betterment of the community through their time, talents and behind the scene efforts.

Who will be the newest inaugurated members? That is up to you and we now ask that you turn on your thinking caps and submit your nominations!

A panel of diverse members of the community will then select the 8 Over 80 honorees from those nominated. Nominations should include the name, age, and as much information as deemed relevant.

Those nominated must meet the following criteria:

• Be 80 years of age or older
• Exemplify a commitment to the Jewish community, an organization, and/or 
specific causes
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Jewish values
• Be an inspiring leader or mentor in the community 


In addition to honoring eight deserving honorees, proceeds raised through the event benefit the Weinberg Village Facility Enhancement and Endowment Funds. These funds will help advance Weinberg Village and provide much needed subsidies and supportive services to our seniors.

Weinberg Village, located on the Maureen & Doug Cohn Jewish Community Campus, is a subsidiary of the Tampa JCC & Federation. The facility includes a full complement of services including assisted living apartments, memory support unit, assistance with personal care, 24- hour wellness staff, rehabilitation services and kosher meals.
