Teacher: Cantor Deborrah Cannizzaro
What is Sephardic Music? Is it medieval? Is it Spanish? Is it Oriental? Is it Jewish? Join Cantor Cannizzaro as she traces the development of the Jewish communities in medieval Spain, through the influences from Morocco, Argentina, Turkey, Greece, and other places that Spanish Jews settled after their expulsion from Spain in 1492.
There is still time to explore melodies, rhythms, and languages that were picked up and assimilated into what we now refer to as “Sephardic” music.
