In 1896 Rabbi Solomon Schecter stepped into the attic of the Ben Ezra synagogue in Cairo, Egypt and found the largest trove of early manuscripts every discovered. Many of the 300,000 documents were over 1,000 years old. Rabbi Glickman shares the fascinating story of the genizah discovery as a “fast-paced archaeological mystery and globe-trotting adventure”. His book, which offers new insight into this most important discovery, was named one of the “Top Ten Jewish Books of 2010” by Jewish Ideas Daily.
