Art Appreciation Lecture Series

Beginning October 18

The Great Courses is a collection of the world's top professors' lecture series entitled "How to Look and Understand Great Art," by Professor Sharon Latchaw Hirsch. Bridge Lessons for Adult Seniors

Our five-week series begins Wednesday Oct 24 at 1pm in the senior lounge, and continues for 4 consecutive weeks. The five-week lessons are $60 for members ans $72 for non-members. Register here for these fun lessons. 

Jet Setters North

Jet Setters welcome Buddy Harrison, Florida Naturalist. On October 25, Buddy Harrison will entertain Jet Setters with a program about manatees and other animals in their Florida habitat.

The Goldbergs and a Nosh

Do you remember "The Goldbergs" radio or TV show? And do you remember the food we ate? Join us for our new series of meetings for senior adults. On the third Tuesday of each month, we get together to watch an episode of "The Goldbergs" and eat a treat reminiscent of the same era. The dates are Oct 16, Nov 20, Dec 18, Jan 15, Feb 19 at 2:00pm. Mah Jongg Games

Calling Mah Jongg players of all ages: Did you know that the JCC offers FREE Mah Jongg games every Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon? Please join us for fun and socializing. Beginner and Advanced games are offered.

Mah Jongg Lessons

Starting this October

Have you always wanted to learn to play Mah Jongg? Now's the time. Please join us on Tuesday afternoons, Oct. 23, Nov 13 and 27, and Dec 11 at 2:00. Yoga for The Young at Heart

FREE event for Senior Adults at JCC and Jewish Towers. Yoga has been shown to relax the body and mind through conscious breathing. Yoga can: increase flexibility, strengthen your core, help with many ailments, including depression, anxiety, headaches and back pain, among others. Next program to be announced soon. The Tampa Jewish Community Center is now a Silver&Fit participating fitness facility! Silver&Fit is a fitness program designed specifically to help seniors achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. Silver&Fit provides eligible members with no-cost fitness memberships through arrangements with certain health plans. Silver&Fit is a product of Heathlyroads, Inc. and American Specialty Heath Networks, Inc.

Tampa JCC Offers SilverSneakers Fitness Program

The Tampa Jewish Community Center now offers the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program to meet the unique needs of the older adults in the community.  By partnering with the nationally recognized Healthways SilverSneakers® Fitness Program, the Tampa Jewish Community Center is able to offer older adults a way to increase their levels of physical activity while motivating them to remain active.  more

 The JeTSetters Program for Independent Seniors
(Senior Adult Social Group)

The Tampa JCC and Tampa Jewish Family Services offer a specially designed program to provide opportunities to our seniors, ages 65 and older. The program will be offered at no cost to all participants that are enrolled.

The program provides an assortment of activities and programs including guest speakers, current event presentations, cultural and spiritual events, art classes, card games and a buffet lunch. Seniors must make a reservation in advance to attend the program and it is on first come first serve basis.

More Seniors Programming in North and South Tampa

The Tampa JCC is committed to offering more programming for seniors in both North and South Tampa in 2012, which includes expanding the JetSetters program. Now in its fifth year, JetSetters is a free program for Tampa seniors ages 65 and older, offering an assortment of programs and activities, including guest speakers, classes, and cultural events.
