JCC Afternoons: We Give Your Child Time to Grow and Learn

Our Program
JCC Afternoons is a licensed afterschool enrichment program at the Tampa Jewish Community Center. Our program provides children from kindergarten through 5th grades an opportunity to have fun, learn new skills and to grow and develop in positive ways.

JCC Afternoons provides a safe and nurturning environment where professional and experienced staff respect and value the diversity of each child. We offer excellent staff to children ratios, with every staff member having had a complete background check.

Upon arrival, your child will receive a healthy snack. Our staff will escort your child to and from the classes they are registered in during program hours. In addition, your children will spend time in our supervised homework room with qualified staff providing assistance when needed.

Enrichment Activities 

Participants in the program choose from the JCC's complete menu of social, physical and cultural enrichment classes, which coincide with the hours of the JCC Afternoons program. Our classes include:

  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Tae Kwon Do
  • Soccer
  • Hip Hop Dance
  • Combo Dance
  • Explorations
  • Art
  • Lego Engineering
  • Tennis
  • Gymnastics
  • and much more!

Transportation


Our program currently provides transportation for you child from the following elementary schools: (*minimun of four children is required)

North Tampa: Westchase, Mary Bryant, Deer Park, Essrig,Citrus Park, Northwest, Hammond, Schwarzkopf, McKitrick, Claywell* and Canella*

South Tampa:

Ballast Point* Roosevelt and Dale Mabry

Our Campus


JCC Afternoons takes place on our 22-acre Jewish Community Center campus. We are conveniently located off Gunn Highway, just east of the Veterans Expressway. Some of the amenities at our facility include:

  • Fully equipped arts and crafts room
  • Soccer field for team sports
  • Playground for supervised play
  • Full-length basketball court with adjustable baskets
  • Game room with ping-pong, billiards, and foosball
  • Four lighted tennis courts
  • Separate library for reading and homework
  • Nature and jogging trail
  • Heated, full-sized outdoor pool

An easy way to pay your bills online

 Scholarships

For those families that may need scholarship or fee adjustments, limited financial assistance may be available. Please register according to the usual procedure. Ask the preschool office for a financial aid application packet. Click here for details.

Enrichment Activities At-a-Glance

Explorations
Explorations reinforces critical thinking and problem solving skills while ensuring your child's understanding of science, math, literature, reading, social studies, art and music.

Hip Hop Dance
Hip Hop is a fun, energetic class that incorporates many aspects of Jazz dance and up-to-date "fad" moves.

Lil' Chefs School
Create delicious food to taste and learn about nutrition, proper hygiene, food science, cooking techniques and great table manners! Each Lil' Cef will create their very own Junior Cook Book to keep and use! Lots of delicious fun!

Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do improves concentration and coordinaiton and is great for flexibility and motor skill development. Classes are fun and exciting!

Tennis
Tennis is the name of the game! Beginning, intermediate basic skills, proper strokes and technique will be taught through games and drills.

Pottery                                                                                   In pottery children will learn to sculpt using clay. They will then paint and or decorate their sculptures or pre-made ceramic artwork.
