This after-school program aims to make science fun and spark imaginative learning through educational and live programs and activities. The eight-week program for children in grades K-7 (children ages 5-12) will be held Thursdays at the Tampa JCC from 4:30-5:30 PM., starting Thursday, January 11th at the North Branch JCC and Tuesday, January 30th at the South Branch JCC.

North Branch class offerings include learning about: acids and bases through making a CO2 fire extinguisher, three states of matter by creating a bubbling portion with dry ice, laser lights by designing a laser lights show, matter through creating marshmallow molecules and Mad Science putty, space flight and aerodynamics through building, and launching rockets (2-week session) and the five senses.

South Branch class offerings include hands-on lessons on: electricity and making indoor lighting, optical illusions and building your own perioscope, lights and making your own color wheel, sounds and special effects, taste and making soda pop, and heat and witnessing rocket launches and making cotton candy.
