The 1818 Philanthropic Circle is a giving circle committed to making change in Tampa’s Jewish community. The focus of 1818 grant-making is on programs that help women and children in new and unique ways.
Founded in 2006 by a group of dedicated women across the community, each group member contributes $1,800 to the fund. Meetings are held approximately quarterly to discuss grant requests and research new areas to explore.
Past grants have supported Tampa’s community schlicha (emissary) from Israel, teen programming, a range of services at Tampa Jewish Family Services, and other endeavors. Most recently, 1818 has committed a generous grant to ensure the successful launch of the PJ Library program in Tampa. Read more about 1818’s grantmaking in this press release.
